ATHENS Tour de Farm 2007
Reconnecting Food and Place”

A bicycle ride to discover local farming

THE JOURNEY
ATHENS Tour de Farm 2007
is a remarkable opportunity to see, touch, taste and explore a broad diversity of local farms during a three day bicycle journey across the North Georgia landscape. For those with a yearning to reconnect with the land, fresh foods, and local farm families this one of kind adventure promises to leave you with wonder and wisdom.

The journey begins on the outskirts of the Classic City (early in the summer before things get too hot), and will form a 100 mile loop through rolling hills and small towns. As we pedal our way into the countryside local farm families will be our hosts as they give us a rest, a tour, and a delicious farm fresh meal. Each night we will camp under the stars with the pasture beneath our heads.

During the journey you will learn about the wide variety of farm practices in use today, the value of regional farms, the nutritional quality of farm fresh foods, and the opportunities for consumers and farmers to build relationships beneficial to both.

Athens Tour de Farm promises to be a one of kind experience for the whole family; an educational opportunity wrapped up in an adventure!
